Terms of use

Effective date: July 24, 2026. These Terms of Use are a binding agreement between you and MUSLIM LANTERN LLC ('we', 'us') governing the Muslim Lantern app and related services. By creating an account or using the app, you accept them.

The short version

Use the app personally and honestly. AI answers summarize published dawah content — they aren’t fatwas and aren’t Muhammed Ali speaking unless directly quoted with a citation. Don’t abuse the AI features, scrape the service, or misuse the community.

Eligibility & your account

You must be at least 13 (or the digital-consent age where you live) and able to form a binding contract. One account per person; you’re responsible for activity on it and for keeping your sign-in method secure. Accuracy of the details you give us matters — orders and notices go to them.

What Muslim Lantern is

Organized access to the published dawah of The Muslim Lantern: the video library; Quran reading, recitation, study tools, collections, bookmarks, and permitted offline downloads; generated summaries and answers grounded in published content with cited video moments; Lantern Voice conversations; locally calculated Prayer Times; the Qibla Field direction aid; the official shop; and community and support features. Videos play via YouTube and remain subject to YouTube’s terms.

AI answers — what they are and are not

Answers are machine-generated summaries of published videos with the source moment cited so you can verify everything. They are not religious rulings (fatwas), not legal, medical, or financial advice, and not the words of Muhammed Ali except where directly quoted. AI can make mistakes — the cited video is always the authority. Voice and conversational AI features are clearly labeled as AI, remain grounded in published content, and are simulations — never the person.

Qibla Field

Qibla Field is a directional aid calculated from your device’s location and sensors. Ground View draws the same calculated great-circle bearing over platform-provided map imagery as a visual cross-check; it does not improve or independently certify compass accuracy. Phone-compass readings can be affected by calibration, magnetic cases, metal, chargers, vehicles, buildings, electronics, device limitations, or unavailable services. Follow the in-app confidence and calibration guidance and independently verify the direction when accuracy matters. Qibla is not a surveying, safety, emergency-navigation, or aviation tool, and we do not guarantee that every reading will be exact or continuously available.

Fair use of AI features

AI features are for personal, human use. The current allowances are material parts of the offer: Free Ask includes 5 newly generated grounded answers per UTC day; Lantern+ and Lantern Max include up to 200; paid Objection Mode includes up to 50 breakdowns; and Lantern Max includes up to 30 minutes per UTC day for generated Lantern Voice and a separate 30 minutes for Voice Live. A UTC day resets at 00:00 UTC. Cached answers, questions we cannot ground, rejected over-limit attempts, and failed generation do not consume an Ask allowance. Failed voice generation and Voice Live connections that never connect are not charged. Current limits are also shown at purchase and where usage is displayed. Automated or scripted access, bulk querying, benchmarking, scraping, prompt or corpus extraction, account sharing or quota pooling, and reselling output are prohibited. Reaching a published allowance pauses only that feature until the stated reset; it does not cancel the subscription or restrict unrelated paid benefits. Separate evidence of prohibited automation or abuse may lead to proportionate throttling or suspension and, where reasonable, notice and an opportunity to contact support. We will not secretly reduce a published paid allowance. Material prospective changes will be disclosed before they take effect; refunds remain subject to applicable law and the app store’s policy.

Community content & conduct

Questions you submit to community features may be moderated, edited for clarity, and answered publicly — never with your identity attached. Do not submit content that is abusive, hateful, deceptive, infringing, or unlawful. You can report content and block users in-app; violating material is removed and repeat offenders lose access. Reasonable daily limits may apply to feedback tools to prevent abuse. You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to use, reproduce, and adapt community submissions to operate, promote, and improve the service. Support tickets and screenshots are private support submissions, not community content, and are used to investigate and respond to your request.

Shop purchases

Shop orders are processed by Shopify checkout under the pricing, shipping, returns, and duties terms shown at purchase. Risk of loss passes on delivery to the carrier where the law allows. Obvious pricing errors may be cancelled before shipment.

Subscriptions & billing

Subscriptions (Lantern+, Lantern Max, and any future tiers) are billed through your Apple App Store or Google Play account. They renew automatically at the shown price and period until you cancel in your store subscription settings at least 24 hours before renewal; the store’s refund rules and applicable law apply. Prices may vary by region and may change prospectively with notice — never retroactively for a period you already paid. All material feature allowances and their reset time are shown directly on the purchase screen before you subscribe. If we materially reduce a paid allowance prospectively, we will provide advance notice and any cancellation, continued-access, consent, or refund option required by the applicable store or law.

Intellectual property & license

Videos, transcripts, answers, brand marks, product designs, software, Quran translations, tafsir, recitations, and other content are the property of MUSLIM LANTERN LLC or their respective owners and are protected by applicable rights. You receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app and any enabled offline downloads on devices you own or control. No scraping, mass downloading outside the provided controls, redistribution, derivative works, or commercial exploitation without our written permission. If you believe content infringes your rights, email support@muslimlantern.app with the details required by the DMCA and we will respond promptly.

Third-party services

YouTube playback, Apple/Google sign-in, billing and speech recognition, Shopify checkout, subscription management, voice processing, podcast delivery, and other external services are governed by their own terms where applicable. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.

App-store terms (Apple)

These terms are between you and MUSLIM LANTERN LLC, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to furnish maintenance or support, and Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these terms with the right to enforce them against you. In case of the app’s failure to conform to a warranty, Apple may refund the purchase price; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation.

Termination

You can leave any time — delete your account in the You tab. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms; where reasonable, we warn first. Sections that by nature survive (IP, disclaimers, liability limits, disputes) survive termination.

Disclaimers

The service is provided 'as is' and 'as available', without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so parts may not apply to you.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MUSLIM LANTERN LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or lost profits or data. Our total liability for all claims is limited to the greater of USD $100 or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or consumer rights that apply in your country of residence.

Governing law & disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Georgia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules — except that if you reside in the EU/UK, you keep the protection of mandatory consumer-law provisions of your country. Before any formal claim, contact support@muslimlantern.app — most issues resolve in one conversation. Claims not resolved informally are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Georgia, unless your local law grants you the right to sue at home.

Miscellaneous

If a provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these terms; we may assign them in a merger or reorganization. These terms plus the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement about the app. We’ll notify you in-app of material changes before they take effect; continued use is acceptance.
